Paritua |

 |
Paritua is located on Maraekakaho Road in the heart of the Hawke’s Bay ‘Ngatarawa Triangle’, and named Paritua as a tribute to the Paritua Stream, which meanders gently through the land.
Paritua was purchased in 2001 as 166 acres of grazing land and the first vines were planted in 2003. Since then, over 150 acres have been planted in three phases: seventy percent of the land is devoted to fruit that will yield the big red blends – Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec – with Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Chardonnay completing the picture.
Featured wines in the New Zealand Wine Centre wine tasting adventure:
PARITUA – Stonepaddock Hawke’s Bay Scarlet
The palate shows blackberry, plum and cassis supported by firm but approachable ripe tannins. The oak influence is subtle and provides spicy notes and great structure. It is a prime example of the exquisite style produced from the stony soils of Hawke’s Bay. This New Zealand wine is a great match with aged cheddar.
